My greatest motivation to create is the urge to understand everything, both the world around me and the one inside my head. The interaction between these two in particular is what I like to rack my brains about the most.
This fascination is also clearly reflected in my work. It mainly concerns subjects such as ways of thinking, (mis)communication, (sub)consciousness, specific emotions or events; fairly abstract things that cannot be captured in just one particular way. The space for research that this creates keeps me busy in daily life, which means that I constantly analyze the outside world and the inside world with the broadest possible view. I like to apply the observations and interpretations that this brings to other subjects that occupy or interest me.
My work usually concerns a collection of all the information that I have found through this research, both personal experiences and more scientific findings. In order to translate this into images, I experiment a lot with different forms of expression and media, in which all the separate components together provide a representation of the endless search within my fascinations. The intention of my work is therefore not to provide an answer to all the questions I have, but to create space for different interpretations and new perspectives.

Mijn grootste drijfveer tot maken is de drang alles te willen begrijpen, zowel de wereld om me heen als die zich in mijn hoofd bevindt. Met name de wisselwerking tussen deze twee is hetgeen waar ik het liefst mijn hersenen over laat kraken.
Deze fascinatie komt dan ook duidelijk naar voren in mijn werk. Het gaat hierin met name over onderwerpen als denkwijzen, (mis)communicatie, (onder)bewustzijn, specifieke emoties of gebeurtenissen; vrij abstracte dingen die niet op slechts één manier vastgelegd kunnen worden. De ruimte voor onderzoek die hierdoor ontstaat houdt me in het dagelijks leven bezig, waardoor ik constant met een zo ruim mogelijke blik de buitenwereld en de binnenwereld analyseer.
